Simon has always had a twin career. One in the media sector, be it in training, production or management. The other in the catering industry, as a chef, proprietor and writer.

Industry background experience of setting up and running an award winning SKY TV channel before sale to a Chinese consortia and of managing a range of media ventures through The Reputations Group based at the Press Association (the UK’s largest news agency) based in London.
Academic study background at Universities in Sheffield, Hull and Huddersfield. Head of the Working Academy at the University of Bradford since 2010. The digital media training and production scheme became a spin-out company of the University in 2018.

He started his chef career working at a number of hotels and restaurants in the South West of England, in Devon and in Montreux in Switzerland. He then used this hospitality knowledge in his family business of bespoke travel and catering at luxury residencies around the UK and Europe.
In 2013, Simon established Couth&Wurstlin Ltd a company which has, to date, delivered over 500 public and private food, drinks and arts events from beach weddings, to shooting breakfasts and from secret cinemas to street food nights.
In 2014 Couth&Wurstlin established Hathersage Social Club, a highly respected and much loved restaurant, bar and cinema venue in the heart of the Peak District.
In November 2019 Couth&Wurstlin sold the Club, relocated to the North Yorkshire Coast and are now offering their event, marketing and business development expertise to a range of corporate and private clients in the UK and abroad.
