The not quite NYE Supper

For those of you who’d like to either avoid NYE itself or for those who’d like to build up to it gradually – a night of celebration – albeit slightly more reserved.  A fabulous menu, without excess and trimmings, some great drinks and the chance to relax and enjoy the final festive shenanigans.

 

Amuse

Festive chestnut and cheddar mini tartlet

with port and cranberry

Starter

Wild Mushroom Soup

Chestnut, wild mushroom and Armagnac soup with

smoked garlic butter baguette

or

Sloe Gin Cured Salmon

Salmon cured in Hathersage sloe gin and then griddled, served with an orange and beetroot Salad

Main Course

Winter Sirloin

28 day dry aged steak with a rich and creamy peppercorn and brandy sauce, roasted tomatoes with chestnut stuffing, triple fried chips, green beans wrapped in Black Forest ham

or

Aubergine and Sweet Potato Melt

Layers of griddled aubergine, Aleppo chilli spiced sweet potato and a gentle smoked mozzarella with a sourdough crust. Served with an arabiata sauce, leaves and triple fried chips

Dessert

Bavarian Chocolate Torte

Bavarian Chocolate Torte with salted, malted biscuit base, a velvet chocolate mousse made with marshmallows, a cointreau cream topping and dark and white chocolate shavings

or

Black Forest Fruit Waffles

Freshly made Liege waffle with Black Forest fruits mulled with kirsch and wine and served with honeyed mascarpone
