It’s Spanish Fiesta night at the club. We’ve ordered a balmy evening so you can start outside with drinks and nibbles. Our five course Spanish Fiesta menu is inspired by the Basque cuisine of Northern Spain and the Pyrenees.
Amuse
In keep with Basque traditions of cider drinking we’ll be offering a small glass of chilled, rustic cider with the first pintxos; Croquetas de Bacalao – salt cod croquettes
Pintxos
Basque tapas size portions of….
- fried anchovies with lemon and peppers
- baked goats cheese with a walnut and orange marmalade
- griddled prawns with lemon and garlic
- fried quails egg with chorizo pepper and onion
Main courses
Txuleton – Basque steak frites
Our Club take on this glorious Basque dish. We use a thin cut dry piece of 28 day aged local T-bone steak, season and sear it. Then serve with Espelette pepper coated chips, a crisp green salad and slow roasted peppers

Merluza en salsa verde – Hake fillets with clams
Cooked in a warm salsa verde sauce with white wine and served with mini roasted potatoes with wilted spinach

Piment Basque
Roasted peppers stuffed with vegetable rice and rosé port soaked prunes. Served with a fig and Ossau Iraty salad
Cheese & Fruit
Manchego, Membrillo and fruit sorbet
A sweet and savoury pallet cleanser after the main meal and before the rich dessert

Gateau Basque
Traditional recipe made with a rum and vanilla cream filling to the cake and side of black cherry and mulled fruit compote
