We’re becoming quite well known for our Viva La Veg nights so we’ve decided it’s time for another veritable veggie feast. For vegetarians, veg lovers and lovers of veg lovers a perfect night for a gathering.
We’ve come up with a menu of Wintering warming dishes that regardless of the miserable weather outside, will set you aglow inside.
This is a 5 course tasting menu with large ‘starter-sized’ servings. There will be plenty of time between each round for a little social intercourse and to order another glass of something lovely.
Leek, spinach and crumbled feta tartlet
– Our all butter pastry with softened leeks, wilted spinach, peppercorns and crumbled feta with a sprinkling of toasted pinenuts. Served with a light Dijon mayo and herb salad

Penne con arrabiata
– Simon’s favourite Italian sauce made to a Puglian recipe using sun-blush tomatoes, black olives, capers, red wine, a hint of chilli, a balsamic reduction and a sprinkling of fesh basil. Mixed in with penne rigate

Tamarind, noodle and shredded vegetable hot salad
– Buckwheat noodles, peppers, red cabbage, radish, tenderstem broccoli and fresh herbs with sticky warm sauce

Wild mushroom and smoked vodka stroganoff with black and basmati rice
– Porcini, chanterelle, chestnut and field mushrooms with rose garlic, marsala wine, crème fraiche and a splash of Chase smoked vodka. Served with black and basmati rice mixed with spinach

Crème cassis poached pear with honey vanilla cream
– A fresh yet rather indulgent treat to finish the meal. Soft poached pear, a syrupy spiced wine and cassis jus and a delicious mascapone cream with local honey
