Diala's Calabrian Cafe

The fabulous Diala returns to the kitchen for our Calabrian Cafe evening. Calabrian cuisine is distinctive from the rest of Italy and each part of Calabria has its own traditional dishes.  There is however one common ingredient, the Peperoncino (or Calabrian chilli).  Join Diala for a very relaxed evening of Calabrian delights.

 

Antipasto

Salumi e formaggio con peperonata

Regional Salami with fennel, Pecorino cheese served with sauteed peppers

Primo

Pasta con la nduja

Pasta with the regional ‘ndjua’ sauce (spicy pork paste from Calabria)

or

Spaghetti Alio e Olio (v)

Spaghetti with garlic, chilli, olive oil and parsley

Secondo

Polpette al sugo con patate arrosto

Italian meatballs cooked in a red wine ragu served with rosemary roast potatoes

or

Parmigiana (v)

Baked aubergine in a tomato sauce with cheese served with rosemary roast potatoes

Dolce

Sorbetto al limone con biscotto ai pinoli

Limoncello sorbet served with pine nut biscuit
