Fête Champêtre

A weekend of French Summer kicks off with our Fête champêtre…..Communal feasting, often outdoors and with local village family and friends.  Some traditional French summer dishes with a club twist.  

 

 

 

AMUSE

Canapés 

smoked garlic and artichoke tapenade with baguettes toasts…ideal with a French 75 cocktail..!

STARTERS

Onion and anchovy tartlet*

all butter pastry with lemon thyme and sea salt. Caramelised onion and a farci of anchovy, red pepper and chives. Herb salad. *works really well with black olive instead of anchovy for a vegetarian option

or

Entrecôte salad

strips of 28 day aged sirloin with roasted peach, crumbled Roquefort, roasted tomato, leaves and balsamic reduction  

MAINS

Duck confit

slow cooked duck leg, white wine and juniper reduction, aligot mash, green beans with shallots and sun-blush tomatoes

or

Swordfish Niçoise 

Seared swordfish steak with a caper and lemon butter, roasted cherry tomatoes, squeaky green beans, griddled Charlotte potatoes, Kalamata black olives, soft poached egg, fresh herbs and our Club dressing

or

Basque vegetable stack

Aubergine, peppers, courgettes and sweet potato with melted chèvre blanc. Honey, orange and walnut glaze. Piment d’Espelette and tomato sauce. 

DESSERT or CHEESE

Black Cherry Clafoutis 

part flan, part tart with black cherries soaked in rosé port. Chantilly cream. Toasted almonds

Cointreau pot au chocolate

intense dark chocolate thick mousse topped with orange fillets and raspberries

or

House French cheeseboard

salty Roquefort with honey, Ossau Iraty with a sweet and tangy relish and petit Valençay goats cheese with black grapes
