'Praise Be to Beer' Supper (with Abbeydale)

Dearly Beloved, we invite you to gather for Mass at Hathersage Social Club with Abbeydale Brewery. Our Abbeydale Mass Supper will offer Daily Bread to the believers and Absolution to Heathens (who haven’t sampled Abbeydale’s fabulous Beers).

You can come just for the tasting menu; a four course supper using Abbeydale beers, you can go all in and add the optional beer flight and get a paired beer for each course or go totally wild and start with cocktail made from an entirely new Abbeydale ale concocted by our fab bar team.

Sample Tasting Menu

Round 1 Taster – Absolution Rarebit

Cave aged cheddar, Dijon mustard and Absolution beer blended together and melted on toasted sourdough served with a roasted pepper and tomato salad with sticky tamarind dressing.

Tasting notes for Absolution; A deceptively easy-drinking strong beer, subtle and easy-going, fruity and gorgeous.Mid-straw coloured beer with aromas of tropical fruit and mangoes. The beer is sweet all the way through, balanced by some bitterness at the finish. Flavours are fruity with toffee apples and bananas.(ABV 5.3%)

Round 2 Starter – Heathen Cured Sea Bass

Fillets cured in Heathen and served with horseradish coleslaw and cinnamon fried apple

Tasting notes for Heathen; This wonderfully refreshing pale session beer showcasing the marvellous Mosaic hops from America. Bursting with tropical fruit flavours and a pleasant citrus bitterness. (ABV 4.1%)

Round 3 Main – Daily Bread Beef Carbonnade

Slow cooked stew with local steak, smoked lardons and an intense sauce reduction using Daily Bread Bitter. Works brilliant with crisp Lane End Farm salad with a verde dressing and dauphinois potatoes.

Tasting notes for Daily Bread; Brewed to satisfy the traditional bitter drinkers. A classic copper coloured English bitter. Well-balanced, copper coloured beer with malty flavours and a smooth bitter finish. Subtle hop characteristics from traditional Fuggles hops.(ABV 3.8%)
