During December our lovely Winter menu get’s some Festive twists designed to work for those out for a Festive Celebration or just out for a lovely brunch, lunch or afternoon coffee and waffle.  If you’re wanting a table for more than 6 scroll to the bottom for the small print…

Festive Daytime Menu

BRUNCH 10am – 12pm

Aligot Brunch £9.50

Aligot potato cakes, slow roasted vine tomatoes, our special festive sausage, local smoked bacon and a helping of our wild & field mushrooms sauce (Add half a sourdough baguette, poached eggs or award winning black pudding for £2 each or full works £14)

Festive Porridge £7

Rolled oat porridge topped with gourmet dried fruits and nuts in a muscovado, brandy & orange sauce

Wild mushroom Marsala £7.50

Local, organic sourdough topped with our wild & field mushrooms in creamy Marsala wine sauce. Grated Parmesan and fresh Italian flat leaf parsley. (Add Paul’s smoked back bacon £2)

Verde brunch £8

A super healthy combination of baby broad beans, garden peas, lemon, mint and olive oil on top of toasted sourdough, with two poached eggs, crumbled feta and our herb salsa verde. (Add Paul’s smoked back bacon £2)

Captain Couth’s steak and eggs £18.50

A super indulgent festive treat. 28 day dry aged sirloin, triple fried chips, local farm eggs, roasted tomatoes, chimichurri dressing.

Club Kedgeree £12

Our Kashmiri recipe with naturally smoked haddock, coriander, chilli, peas and cream mixed with steamed long grain rice. Soft boiled egg and mango relish

STARTERS 12pm – 3pm

Beef carpaccio £7.50

local fillet coated in peppercorns and sea salt flakes. With pink horseradish, black olive tapenade, rocket and toasts

Smoked garlic king prawns £8

Butterflied large prawns with our wood smoked garlic butter. herb salad and warm flatbreads

Basque goats cheese £7.50

melted on toasted sourdough with an orange, honey and nut glaze. With leaves and balsamic dressing

Sausages and Spice £14

Nicola’s mix of free range turkey, pork and smoked bacon and a special seasoning blend, served with spiced pan fried potatoes with spinach and our tangy cranberry and port sauce

The Winter sirloin £23

28 day dry aged steak with a rich and creamy peppercorn and brandy sauce, roasted tomatoes with chestnut stuffing, triple fried chips, green beans wrapped in Black Forest ham

Loch Trout parcel £17

Chunky fillet baked in parchment with a prawn, tomato and orange sauce and served with a bowl of our triple fried chips

Ultimate turkey sandwich £15

Our Basque style free range turkey breast wrapped in air dried ham  with an Espelette pepper, olive, date and chestnut stuffing, served in slices of locally baked sourdough, with Dijon mayo and our port and cranberry sauce. Choose a side of winter salad or triple fried chips.

C&W Festive Cheese Tart £14

All butter pastry tart, caramelised onions, flambéd chestnuts & cave aged cheddar with a cranberry topping served with a winter salad of poached pear, leaves and seeds.

Classic Club steak haché £12

Ground local steak with our special herbs & spices served in seeded bun with triple fried chips & salad.

Suggestion topping combos (£2.50)

The Aveyronnais – Caramelised onion and Roquefort.

The Yorkshire – Wensleydale and Sheffield Smokery bacon.

The Naga – Chilli gherkins, melted cheddar & naga mayo.

Halloumi burger £10.50

Griddled halloumi with pan-fried Portabello mushroom, wilted spinach and pesto both served in focaccia with triple fried chips and house salad.

Calvados, plum and apple compote mixed with honey mascarpone cream and topped with a malted biscuit and grain crumble

Christmas brownie £7

Baileys cream, dark chocolate and toasted nut brownie with clotted cream ice cream and brandy cream

The Famous Waffle Menu

Freshly baked Liege waffles – fluffy, yet chewy inside and with caramelised pearl sugar on the outside.

Just Naked Single £4 / Double £6

Our waffle served simply with side of Canadian maple syrup and a swirl of cream or ice cream

Fully clothed waffle specials Single £6 / Double £9

The Montreux – with a dark chocolate and salted caramel sauce and vanilla cream or ice cream

The Strudel – plum and apples stewed with flame raisins, cinnamon and a splash of calvados with ice cream

The Freiburg – with mulled Black Forest Fruit & Kirsch Compote.

For bookings of 6 or more during December we do ask for guests to pre-order their starters and main courses and we ask for a £5 deposit per person to confirm your booking which is redeemable against your meal at £5 per guest.  The maximum group booking for lunch is 8 (we’re very small) if you are a larger group talk to us about Festive Brunching, late lunching or evening bookings.
