Tweeds a-hoy for our rather marvellous tasting menu of game derived dishes featuring venison from a North Yorkshire Deer Stalker whose ethical hunting methods we really respect.   We take the whole roe deer and this is butchered for us by the rather marvellous Mr Bowyer next door.

 

 

Amuse 

Game Scotch Egg
Quails egg filling with a pink horseradish dip 

Starter 

Carpaccio of venison 

Saddle infused with rosemary and juniper. Port and cranberry relish, aged Parmesan and herb toasts

Duck Rillettes

Slow cooked terrine with pancetta and sage added. Apple, onion thyme confit. Sticky balsamic reduction

Palate Cleanser 

Sloe Gin & Tonic Sorbet

Pheasant & Armagnac 

Stuffed with Boursin and smoked lardons. Armagnac and cream sauce

Haunch slow cooked in Gaillac red wine and damsons

Both dishes served with aligot mash, goose fat roasted potatoes, green beans with shallots and chestnuts and our spiced red cabbage

Coffee and dark chocolate brownie with mini espresso martini
