The HSC Burns Night

Burns Night in a club style.. Some hae meat ancanna eat,And some wad eat that want it;But we hae meat, and we can eat,And sae let the Lord be thankit

Bring your fiddle, your sense of fun and possible a burns poem or line or two..

Ceremonial piping in of the haggis 

Amuse

Portobello mushroom and roasted red pepper stuffed with haggis or vegetable and highland berry stuffing 

Starters

Scottish Loch Salmon cured in Jura whisky and citrus rub. Served with a roasted beetroot and orange salad

Or

Vegetarian Cock-a-leekie soup with soft prunes and a measure of Deuchers IPA

Main Course

Venison Pie

Slow cooked haunch of venison in damson, juniper and red wine and then layered in a suet crust pastry with neeps, tatties and buttered greens

Or

Aberdeen Angus fillet with Talisker whisky, peppercorn and creme fraiche sauce

Or

Rumbledethumps….a Scottish Boarders, Winter dish with kale, turnips, potatoes, herbs and melted cheese. Served with slices of vegetarian haggis.

Pudding

Whisky and orange brownie sundae

Or 

Mature Scottish cheddar, plum bread and a nip of Laphroig
